Bullard: Former Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been appointed as manager of Leatherhead, the Ryman League Premier Division club have announced. It is a first coaching role for the 37-year-old, who also had spells with West Ham, Peterborough, Wigan, Hull, Ipswich and MK Dons, and was called into the England squad three times without playing a game. He has since worked as a broadcaster and also appeared in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here in 2014.

DC United: DC United’s penchant for late goals came to the fore again as they salvaged a 2-2 draw at Major League Soccer rivals Chicago Fire on Friday. The Washington-based team scored twice in the last two minutes of their previous match, against New York Red Bulls, to earn a point. And Bobby Boswell’s stoppage-time goal earned them a point at Chicago which sees them return to the top six of the Eastern Conference.

Toshack: John Toshack was fired as coach of Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca yesterday, less than 24 hours after they lost 4-0 at Zamalek of Egypt in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-finals. The former manager of Wales and Real Madrid had been at the club for more than two years. Zamalek are now big favourites to advance to next month’s two-legged final against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa or Zambians Zesco United in the continent’s top club competition.

Monaco: Thomas Lemar fired a late double as Monaco moved three points clear of Paris St Germain at the top of Ligue 1 following a 3-0 home win against Rennes. Midfielder Lemar followed up his Champions League goal in Monaco’s 2-1 midweek win at Tottenham with two more in the closing stages against Rennes after Falcao had set them on their way in the first half. Colombia international Falcao headed Monaco into a 42nd minute lead and Lemar struck in the 90th minute before adding his second in time added on.

Bacca: Milan are planning a swap deal involving striker Carlos Bacca and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, the Daily Express reported yesterday. Bacca was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer, with West Ham reportedly interested. And Milan are preparing for his departure, with Fabregas thought to be their top target should the Colombian depart.
