Organised by Malta Artisan Markets, it would be an opportunity to see some of the best and most unique independent art and craft designers showcasing and selling original handmade crafts.

Stands include a mix of jewellery, woodwork, soy wax candles, home-made soaps, crochet crafts, food and drink, coffee, organic herbal remedies, beauty products and much more.

Entertainment and activities on the day will include face painting, juggling performances and balloon modelling for children.

The fort is also offering a reduced rate entry to visit the National War Museum found within, as well as Heritage Malta’s Valletta 1566 – Melita Renascens exhibition commemorating the 450th anniversary since the laying of the first stone of the city of Valletta.

This unique exhibition is actually split over two venues, with the other part of the story unfolding at the National Library, which is, however, closed on Sundays.

■ The market is on from 10am to 6pm and entrance is free. For more information, visit www.maltaartisanmarkets.com.

Also taking place tomorrow is Swejjaq, an artisan market that recalls past local traditions.

Held in the quaint village of San Lawrenz in Gozo, this edition will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy typical Gozitan food prepared by the Ta’ Ċangura Folk Group, vegetables and farm products from Gozitan farmers, and crafts and other locally made products.

There will also be a play park area for children including entertainment in the form of bouncing castles, a bungee line and a mega slide.

Those who attend will be able to enjoy all this in a car-free square since this activity forms part of the European Mobility Week, a week in which alternative transport is being promoted to reduce cars from roads all across Europe.

Swejjaq is being organised by the San Lawrenz Local Council.
