St Patrick’s AC, in conjunction with SmartCity Malta and TeamSport, will be hosting the fifth edition of the SmartCity Road Races on Sunday, September 25.

The 8km road race will begin from Laguna Walk at 8.30am. Runners head to Bighi Bay and then Triq il-Missjoni Taljana. From Kalkara, the race route continues to Xgħajra before a descent to the promenade and back to starting point.

An 8km walkathon and a 2km race for juniors will also be held on the day, making it a fun-filled event for the entire family.

Commenting on SmartCity Malta’s support for the race, Sandra Chetcuti, sales and marketing manager, said: “We are proud to be associated with this race for the fifth time, especially after the success of the previous events. Such initiatives reflect the commitment of SmartCity Malta to promote a healthy work-life balance.”

Director Michael Darmanin said that, as one of the race’s sponsors and leading technical sport shops in the country, TeamSport is committed to supporting the local athletic community, in particular St Patrick’s AC which is one of the longest established athletic clubs on the islands.

Trophies will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers. All participants will receive a commemorative token.

This year, St Patrick’s AC will be donating €2 from each entry fee for the 8km run/walk to the Malta Community Chest Fund, through their campaign Solidarjetà bl-Isports.

Application forms may be downloaded from the St Patrick’s AC official website.
