I address the following to Planning Parliamentary Secretary Deborah Schembri.

Reality must be faced and acted upon immediately even if three quarters of the people are to be sent out of buildings and made to pay penalties.

Doing otherwise will be injustice to those who abide by the law.

Justice must be done and those who violated the law should be punished. That would also serve as a deterrent.

Failing to enforce the law means that those who are supposed to be in authority have no effective say and no real power.

The Times of Malta has reported that at least 50 people are expected to be taken to court in October after being caught on camera committing over 100 illegal dumping-related offences at Żebbuġ bring-in sites over a span of 10 weeks.

Hopefully, the offenders will be heavily fined. Citizens deserveand do their utmost to enjoy a clean environment.

Thus, just as one is able to report car emissions, the authorities should launch a dedicated line enabling us to report any offences that are damaging to the environment.
