ASCIAK. On August 8, at Hunters Lodge Care Centre, Cherrytree Lane, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England, JOSEPH, aged 91, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he leaves to mourn his loss his son Mario and his wife Isabel, and his daughter Jose­phine, his adorable grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brother Albert and sisters Mary, Agnes and Bernar­dette, relatives and friends. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ATTARD. On September 10 at Casa Antonia, DORIS née Cottrell, aged 95, widow of the late Michael Attard, founder of Michael Attard Ltd, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved children Michael and his wife Lucienne, and John, her grandchildren Michel and Martina, Luke and Gwen, Jean Paul, Andrea and Ben, and Rebecca and Andrew, and her beloved great-granddaughter Giulia, her sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Casa Antonia, Balzan, tomorrow Monday, September 12 at 8am for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and The Mission Fund will be greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank all the staff of Casa Antonia for their dedicated care. Lord grant her eternal rest.

AZZOPARDI. On September 9, at her home, SANDRA née Calleja, aged 52, of Birkirkara, and residing at Iklin, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Dr Eugene Azzopardi, her children Jean, Violet and Shirley, her mother Violet, widow of Carmelo, her sister Mariella, wife of Jean Buttigieg, her brothers Stephen and his wife Rachel, Aldo and his wife Natalie, Christopher and his wife Claire, her in-laws Michael and his wife Marthese, Josephine and her husband Joseph, Manuel and his wife Mary, and Sr Marianne, their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow Monday, September 12 at 2pm for St Helen’s Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Malta and Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre for their excellent care. Lord grant her eternal rest.

FRANCICA. On September 10, VINCENT, aged 69, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Irene, his daughters Sabina and her husband Jonathan, Fiona and her husband Kenneth, Abigail and her partner Braydon, and Chanelle and her fiancé Steve, his granchildren Maxine, Ella, Alec, Jade and Ally, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their respective spouses and families, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, September 13 at 8am for St Francis church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

GEORGE. On September 4, at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom, MAY, née Crockford, aged 86, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her daughter Denise Cronin, her beloved grandson Nicholas and his wife Alex, her sister Terry and her husband Tony Camilleri, Mignon, widow of her brother Alfred, her brother Patrick and his wife Kathy, Paulette Crockford and her numerous nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The family and friends will be organising a Mass for the repose of her soul at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. Details will be announced later. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

RIZZO. On September 8, JOSEPH, aged 88, passed peacefully away  comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Ivy née Lanfranco, his children Anita and her husband Josef Camilleri, Anthony and his wife Heidi née Stellini, and Roberta and her husband John Tua, his grandchildren Gaston and Justine, Fae and Frank, Luke and Stephanie, Clarissa and Kurt, Karl and Nicola, and Julia and Daniel, his beloved great-grandchild Matteo, his brother Prof. John Rizzo Naudi, his sisters Doris Rizzo and Tessie and her husband Charles Zahra, his sister-in-law Marlene Attard, his carer Juliet, and his many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow Monday, September 12 at 2pm for Our Lady of the Annunciation parish church, Balzan where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.
