As part of the European Week of Sport, SportMalta is organising a flash move in St George’s Square, Valletta, tomorrow at 10am.

This fun event will see Malta joining together with all the European member states to officially open the #BEACTIVE Campaign of the European Week of Sport.

The week is an initiative led by the European Commission to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. This year marks its second edition, continuing to generate new activities while building on already existing successful ones. The overarching campaign theme remains #BeActive, encouraging everyone to be active during the week but also to keep it up all year long. It also aims to promote participation in sport and physical activity regardless of age, background or fitness level, bringing together individuals, public authorities, the sport movement, civil society organisations and the private sector.

A flash move is perfectly suited to promote this European Week of Sport as the choreography unfolds gradually and passers-by can join in and be active. It is also an opportunity for the initiative to underline its European dimension.
