The Malta Amateur Dramatic Club’s (MADC) One-Act Play Festival opens tonight with the plays The Price to be Paid and Family 2.0 at the MADC playhouse in Santa Venera.

The club has been established since 1910 with the festival coming into existence in 1979. The festival is a very important feature of the club’s seasonal activities, giving aspiring young actors and directors the opportunity to showcase their talents to a live audience in a competitive club atmosphere.

Tonight sees Gianni Grioli directing Jacob Farrugia, Megan Maistre, Christian Gauci and Audrey Scerri in The Price to be Paid. Benedek Forro takes the helm of Family 2.0 with Tanya Bonnici, Julian Galea, Clayton Mallia, Nicole Piscopo and Geos Mifsud in the main parts.

Tonight’s performances will also be staged on Saturday with two different plays tomorrow and Sunday. The last night of the festival is also awards night for best director, best production, best actor and actress, and most promising actor and actress.

Tickets can be bought online at www.madc.com.mt with shows starting at 7.30pm.
