The Malta Heritage Trust Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna will be marking Victory Day today with a special event at the Saluting Battery in Valletta which will culminate with a full-gun salute at noon.

There will be guided tours of the venue and the war headquarters tunnels in Maltese and English from 12.15pm onwards. There will also be a brief hands-on display showing how a gun is loaded and fired in which the attending public will be invited to partake.

The Saluting Battery will stay open for the duration of the traditional Victory Day regatta, too. It offers an ideal vantage point from where all the boat races can be viewed.

Children under 16 years of age and all paid up Wirtartna-Friends go free.
