Swiss President Johann Schneider-Ammann is to make a two-day state visit to Malta starting on Friday.

He will be officially welcomed at the Palace Square in Valletta on Friday at 10.30am and call on the President.

He will tour St John’s Co-Cathedral and lay flowers on the War Memorial in Floriana before meeting Education Minister Evarist Bartolo and Economy Minister Chris Cardona in his capacity as head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.

Other meetings will be held with the prime minister, the leader of the opposition and the Speaker of the House.
