Scottish fans will be donating £5,000 to Puttinu Cares on Saturday, just a day before their team meets Malta in the first World Cup qualifier match at Ta’ Qali.

The donation will be The Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal’s 60th.

The Tartan Army, as fans of the Scottish national team are known, have established a reputation as being among the friendliest, most colourful and most peaceful set of travelling fans in world football.

Their first donation, of €2,000, was when Scotland played a qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina. A total of €100,000 have been donated since.

Around 5,000 Scottish fans are expected to make the trip to Malta for the game.
