Senators in Brazil will vote on whether to remove President Dilma Rousseff permanently as leader of Latin America's most populous country.
They debated her fate until the early hours of Wednesday on the fifth day of her impeachment trial, and then planned a short break before resuming for the final vote.
Passionate closing arguments by Ms Rousseff's accusers and speeches by her allies appeared to be doing little to tip the balance in her favour on the eve of the decision.
She was suspended by the Senate in May, and faces permanent removal for breaking fiscal responsibility laws in her managing of the budget.
