Global superstar Eros Ramazzotti will be performing live in Malta on Saturday, September 17 as part of his worldwide tour, Perfetto.

The 52-year-old Italian singer was born in Rome and as a child occasionally participated as an extra in movies in crowd scenes, while dreaming of a musical career. He was first signed up to a label in 1981 but it wasn’t until 1984 that he really hit it big, when he won the ‘new talent’ section of the Sanremo Festival with Terra promessa (Promised Land). The song was released all over Europe and cemented his status as an internationally loved artist. Such was his popularity that Ramazzotti was the first Italian singer to debut on the stage of the Radio City Music Hall in New York in 1990, singing to a sold-out house.

He has sold over 60 million albums worldwide and duetted with music legends such as Luciano Pavarotti, Tina Turner, Andrea Bocelli, Cher, Joe Cocker and Anastacia.

In Malta, he will perform songs from his 13th studio album titled Perfetto released in May 2015, including Alla Fine Del Mondo, Il Tempo Non Sente Ragione, Un’Altra Estate and Tra Vent’Anni, among other tracks.

Ramazzotti, who has a huge local following, will perform in the open-air section of the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. The concert starts at 9pm. The next leg of his tour will take him to the US
