Gamboa: Celtic have completed the signing of West Brom right-back Cristian Gamboa. The 26-year-old arrived in Glasgow yesterday for a medical and has now penned a three-year deal with the Hoops after agreeing personal terms. Costa Rica international Gamboa has won 47 caps for his country and played in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Fellaini: Marouane Fellaini’s back injury has forced Belgium to call Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker into their squad for the friendly against Spain and a World Cup qualifier in Cyprus. Fellaini was injured in Manchester United’s win at Hull City on Saturday. The friendly against Spain in Brussels tomorrow is followed by a trip to Cyprus next Tuesday.

Cathcart: Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has been dealt a blow ahead of next weekend’s World Cup qualifier in the Czech Republic with the news that defender Craig Cathcart will miss the game through injury. The 27-year-old missed Watford’s loss to Arsenal on Saturday due to a groin strain and that problem will now keep him out of his country’s clash in Prague on Sunday. O’Neill has already called up Shrewsbury’s Ryan McGivern.

Mason: Hull City have completed the signing of Ryan Mason for a club-record fee. The sum they will pay Tottenham for the 25-year-old midfielder remains undisclosed, but Hull have confirmed it is a new record. Mason will further strengthen their squad following the earlier signing of goalkeeper David Marshall from Cardiff, and becomes the latest to leave White Hart Lane for East Yorkshire.

Macheda: Federico Macheda has left Cardiff City after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement, the Championship club said. The Italian scored a sublime debut goal for Manchester United in a win over Aston Villa in April 2009 when he was 17, but had six spells on loan before leaving Old Trafford for Cardiff in 2014.
