A unique night of Spanish entertainment is set to take place on Friday, September 2 at the Gardjola Gardens in Senglea.

The location is suspended on the bastions with fantastic panoramic views over Marsa, Valletta, the Grand Harbour and Fort St Angelo.

Organised by Inspire Foundation together with the Senglea local council, visitors to the event will have the opportunity to taste a selection of Rioja wines, sangria, traditional food platters and the famous Spanish dish, paella.

Rioja is a distinct wine region in Spain, with a Qualified Designation of Origin (DOC). Wine from the area is made from grapes grown in the communities of La Rioja and Navarre as well as the Basque province of Álava.

Entertainment throughout the evening will be provided by Flamenco dancers from The Algeria Academia de Baile Flamenco and Campaña Danza. Spanish music will also be showcased through the talent of José Calderon Galvez.

Entrance is free with doors opening at 7pm. Free parking is also available at Boiler Wharf, Senglea, which is within walking distance of the Gardjola Gardens.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Inspire Foundation. This non-governmental organisation believes that everyone has a right to equality and inclusion. Its mission is to try to help everyone with a disability achieve this. Inspire does this by providing individuals and their families with educational, therapeutic and leisure services. Today, Inspire helps over 1,000 individuals with varying disabilities ranging from Down’s syndrome, to autism, cerebral palsy and others.
