These are the leading stories in today's Maltese newspapers. 

The Times of Malta recounts a mother's horror at seeing her son engulfed in flames after being soaked in flammable liquid in a barbeque-related accident. 

In another story, the Times reports that the consumer watchdog has been left essentially powerless to order remedial action following a court decision issued last May. 

The Malta Independent reports that receipts show that health ministry official Neville Gafa' received €35,000 in payments from a Libyan businessman. Mr Gafa' has been accused of receiving kickbacks to issue medical visas. 

In-Nazzjon writes that IT systems at health centres collapsed, and that the General Workers' Union has yet to receive assurances regarding Air Malta workers. 

L-Orizzont reports on the GWU budget proposals and says that a national project to embellish the entrance to Valletta is about to get underway.
