Soares: Euro 2016 winner Cedric Soares has signed a new four-year contract with Southampton. The 24-year-old Portugal full-back is expected to command an important role under new Saints boss Claude Puel, especially with Jeremy Pied sidelined through knee trouble. The Saints also recruited goalkeeper Stuart Taylor on a free transfer on Friday.

Nagatomo: Yuto Nagatomo will not make the Inter squad for this evening’s match at home to Palermo after injuring his calf. Left-back Nagatomo joins Cristian Ansaldi and Marco Andreolli on Inter’s list of injured players. However, Jeison Murillo is back from suspension after missing the 2-0 upset to Chievo on the opening day of the Serie A campaign last weekend.

Fulham: Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen has completed a move to Fulham. The moves sees Johansen, 25, depart Parkhead after two-and-a-half years, having joined from Norwegian side Stromsgodset in January 2014. The Norwegian scored 20 goals in 114 appearances for Celtic, with whom he won three Premiership titles and was named Scottish PFA player of the season for season 2014/15.

Pereira: Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira will spend the 2016-17 season on loan with Granada in Spain’s La Liga after the two clubs agreed on a season-long transfer. The 20-year-old Brazilian, who made 13 appearances during Louis van Gaal’s time in charge of United, trained with his new team-mates in Spain on Friday. Pereira scored in Jose Mourinho’s opening pre-season friendly at Wigan Athletic with a superb drive.

Mawson: Swansea City have agreed an undisclosed fee with Barnsley for their central defender Alfie Mawson. Mawson joined Barnsley from Brentford in June 2015 after the player had loan spells at Luton Town, Welling and Wycombe. Mawson has made 64 appearances and last season was a part of the Barnsley side which won the League One play-offs and lifted the Football League trophy at Wembley.
