A new business section dedicated to the growing sector of logistics has been set up within the Malta Chamber of Commerce. The chairman of the new committee is Robert C. Aquilina, who is chairman of the Salvo Grima Group. Mr Aquilina said Malta was experiencing an unprecedented growth in logistics, which underlined the timeliness of setting up such a committee.

“I am happy to once again be of service to the business community as chairman of this committee within the Malta Chamber. I intend to lead the vastly experienced members of the committee for the benefit of the sector and the Maltese economy in general,” said Mr Aquilina.

The five-member committee is composed of Mr Aquilina (Salvo Grima Group) as chairman, David Fleri Soler (Express Trailers Ltd) as deputy chairman, and Hugh Arrigo (Attard & Co Industrial Ltd), Pierre Attard (CMA CGM Malta Agency Ltd) and Ronald Attard (EY) as members.

The logistics business has been registering a steady interest recently and it was given due attention in the Chamber’s ‘Economic Vision for Malta 2014-2020’ and subsequently in EY’s document outlining sectors for growth this year.
