Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed the Norwegian was on his way out of Parkhead after failing to agree a contract extension. “Stefan’s going into the last year of his contract,” Rodgers said. “I have found him a really good guy. Mannone: Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone has been ruled out for at least three months with an elbow injury and the Premier League club will target a replacement before the transfer window ends, manager David Moyes said yesterday. The 28-year-old Italian, who signed a two-year contract extension last month, picked up the injury in training on Tuesday.
Fifa Probe: FIFA investigators want Qatar Football Association vice-president Saoud Al Mohannadi to be banned for “failure to properly co-operate and provide truthful information” in an investigation. The investigators from world football’s governing body’s ethics committee have not confirmed the nature of the probe but have said it does not relate to Qatar’s 2022 World Cup bid. They have recommended that ethics judges impose a ban on Al Mohannadi of “two years and six months” for three violations of FIFA’s code of ethics.
