The label might say 'SPF 30', but the product is anything but.

People who have bought Sunscreen Chrono Repair Solaire 30+ have been warned that the label on two batches is misleading and that they risk getting sunburnt if using it.

Batches number 2627 and 2665 of the sunscreen, manufactured by Laboratorie Sintyl of Geneve, offer a lower level of protection that the SPF 30 advertised.

Although the product is not believed to be imported to Malta, it is readily available for purchase online.

The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority urged any stores selling the product to remove it from their shelves. Any consumers who might have purchased the product locally have been asked to contact the Authority on 2395 2000.
