Bravo: Manchester City have signed Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo from Barcelona for an initial £18 million, the clubs confirmed yesterday.  The 33-year-old agreed a four-year contract to join City as new manager Pep Guardiola continues his major overhaul of the 2014 Premier League champions. “Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad,” Guardiola said.

Butland: Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland will not make his long-awaited return from an ankle injury in tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Everton, manager Mark Hughes said . The England international, who has not featured in the league since March after fracturing his ankle, suffered another ankle injury in training a day before the club’s opener against M’Boro.

CSKA Sofia: Romanian Edward Iordanescu was named coach of CSKA Sofia in an attempt to revive their fortunes following a mediocre start to the season. The 38-year-old, son of former Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu, replaced Hristo Yanev, who resigned on Sunday, a day after CSKA drew 1-1 at lowly Pirin Blagoevgrad in the league.

Zaha: Tottenham are in talks with Crystal Palace to sign Wilfried Zaha and the winger has told Alan Pardew he wants to leave the club. Press Association Sport reported Zaha arranged a meeting with Pardew at the club’s training ground yesterday morning where he made clear his wish to join Spurs. Tottenham have started negotiations with Palace and are planning an opening offer of £15 million.
HART: Everton manager Ronald Koeman shut down talk of a move for England goalkeeper Joe Hart in three simple words yesterday. Hart is set to leave Manchester City having been reduced to a fringe role with the club since Pep Guardiola’s arrival as coach and the Toffees were strongly linked with a move but when asked about the player, Koeman said : “There’s no interest.”

Eduardo: Chelsea have signed goalkeeper Eduardo from Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb on a one-year deal. The 33-year-old, a non-playing member of Portugal’s victorious Euro 2016 squad, will provide competition for Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic.
