I have been instructed by residents of Ġlormu Cassar Street, in Mosta to write with regard to the redirection of traffic in Eucharistic Congress Road.

The mayor had promised us that such redirection of traffic would happen soon. Now he, or the Mosta council, have made a U-turn and stated the situation would remain unchanged for at least another two years. This to allow the completion of the Kappara junction. But what exactly does the Kappara junction have to do with Eucharistic Congress Road?

When the mayor informed us about the traffic plans involving Eucharistic Congress Road we breathed a sigh of relief. Now we have to continue suffering because of the volume of traffic going through Ġlormu Casssar Street, a side street, with cars often driving at excessive and dangerous speed.

A big thank you to the mayor, who should also be advised not to give any notice of a minority who do not want traffic to be redirected through Eucharistic Congress Road. They are not suffering as we are and, surely, will not suffer if, by some miracle, such redirection would in fact happen.
