The last leg of Siennese singer Gianna Nannini’s 2016 tour will be taking place in Malta this Sunday, August 28.

The rocker will be belting out tunes from her Hitstory album. The three-hour show sees Nannini retracing her successful career as she revisits some of the tracks she is most famously known for, such as Fotoromanza, Bello e impossibile and Un’estate Italiana, which was the chosen theme song for the World Cup held in Italy in 1990.

Nannini, Italy’s foremost female rocker, was thought of as the creative rebel in her family, a family which had well-established industrial roots in the production of sweets. She went on to attend the Lucca Conservatory, where she trained as a pianist.

At age 19, deciding to become a professional musician, she left her home for Milan where she took her first steps in the entertainment world, performing in local bars and small venues. Eventually, Nannini signed to Numero Uno, the record label owned by Italian pop heavyweights Mogol and Lucio Battisti and the rest is history.

The concert is taking place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali on Sunday at 9pm. Tickets are available online at www.ticketline.com.mt, in person from MFCC or from Embassy Cinema’s box office in Valletta.
