For the second consecutive year, the Kingfisher Sport Fishing Association (KSFA) in collaboration with the Marsascala local council is organising Mit-tfal għat-Tfal (from children, for children), a fishing activity for children to raise funds for others in need.

The event is being held this Sunday, August 28 along the Marsascala promenade between 5pm and 8pm. Those who participate will need to have their own equipment, with the recommended age bracket being between six to 14 years of age. Any technique is permitted and members of the club will be present on site to guide children to progress further in this peaceful sport.

Various gifts, including fishing apparel and medals, will be given to all participants. All fish will be released back into the sea after the activity as per KSFA rules, thus encouraging conservation.

This year all the donations collected will be presented to Qalb it-Tfal, an organisation set up with the aim of helping the Neonatal Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU), the intensive care unit within Mater Dei Hospital for pre-terms, babies and children till the age of three requiring intensive care. The NPICU is run by highly specialised and dedicated staff.

Those wishing to join in can contact the club on 7905 7238 or 7982 6648. The club recommends that participants turn up by 4.30pm latest so that the activity can start on time.
