A sold-out audience at Pjazza Teatru Real saw Ivan Grech entertain them for two and a half hours in what was his first-ever solo concert.

The Winter Moods frontman performed some of his band's greatest hits as well popular covers ranging from Elvis to Depeche Mode, Marillion, U2, Duran Duran, the Beatles, and more.

“I am ecstatic,” Mr Grech said after the concert. “The audience instantly got into the vibe of the performance. They sang, they danced, they made it special. The intimacy of the theatre surrounded by Valletta’s beautiful architecture made this one very memorable performance.”

The popular singer was accompanied on stage by Jeremy Micallef and David Cassar Torregiani on guitars, Conrad Dimech on guitars and keyboards, David Ciantar on keyboards, Robert Galea on bass and Raphael Tonna on drums, as well as Dario Bezzina and Amanda Dimech on backing vocals.

Maestro Dominic Galea joined Ivan for an interlude on a red piano for the rendition of Can’t Help Falling In Love, Where Have All The Flowers Gone, Wonderful World, Miss You and Xemx.

Renowned international musicians Carl Carlton and Pascal Kravetz joined Mr Grech for a cover of Robert Palmer’s Addicted To Love, which had the audience on its feet. Carl Carlton is the guitarist on the original recording of the song. Kravetz who featured in Winter Moods’ The Journey album on piano also performed Everlasting with Mr Grech and the band.

“Feedback from the people who attended is pretty amazing,” concluded Mr Grech. “This is set to become an annual event!”
