Sam Magri was on the mark as Dover FC chalked up an impressive 3-1 win over Barrow at their Crabble Athletic Ground on Saturday.

The Malta U-21 defender scored his first goal for the club with an accurate header seven minutes from time after Moses Ademola and Ross Lafayette had given the Whites a two-goal lead.

Barrow pulled a goal back a minute from time courtesy of a Ross Hannah penalty.

The win moved Dover FC in fourth place on 10 points level with Sutton United, Solihull Moors and Forest Green Rovers.

Tranmere lead the way on 15 points.

Chris Kinnear’s team will now travel to Torquay on Saturday.

Andrè Schembri’s  Boavista preserved their unbeaten start in the Portuguese Primeira Liga after they played out a goalless draw at lowly Belenenses last Friday.

The experienced Malta striker was again included in the starting formation by coach Erwin Sanchez and played for 85 minutes before being substituted by Samu Silva.

The result left Boavista, who had won their league opener against Arouca 2-0, in sixth place on four points, two adrift of early pacesetters Porto and Sporting Lisbon.

Boavista host Chaves at the Estadio de Bessa on Sunday.

Luke Gambin was not involved  as Barnet were held to a 1-1 draw at Crawley Town in their last outing on Saturday.

The Malta winger was not included in Barnet’s 18-man squad despite a bright appearance as a second-half substitute in midweek which saw his team earn a 1-1 draw at Blackpool.

Barnet are currently eighth in the League Two standings on six points, three adrift of leaders Morecambe and one outside the play-off places.
