CHETCUTI. On August 18, at St Vincent de Paul residence, EVELYN, of Ħamrun, aged 86, widow of Dr Francis Chetcuti, former director of education, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Michael and his wife Patricia residing in France, Peter and his partner Elizabeth residing in the US, and Valerie, her grandchildren Marc, Louise, Cedric, Daniella, Myles, Jessica and Julia, her brother and sisters, Joe, wido­wer of Lucy, Agnes, widow of Joseph, Ġemma, widow of George, and Jessie, widow of her brother Victor, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow, Monday, August 22, at 1.15pm for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 1.45pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Żabbar cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DIX. On August 19, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIO Francis Joseph Thomas, aged 73, son of Edeline Hornyold-Strickland, passed away with his family around him and at peace with himself, under the care of the Virgin Mary. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Gregory, Matthew, Theo and Rupert, who each reflect a part of him, his humour, charisma, intelligence and love. He will be missed by his beloved grandchildren Natasha, Sadie, Jessica, Tabitha and Sydnie and all those who were close to him over his lifetime. The funeral will be held tomorrow, Monday, August 22, at 10.30am at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass will be celebrated by Fr Joe Cini, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. In honour of Mario’s wishes and his support of the organisation of Caritas, any donations to Caritas would be gratefully received in lieu of flowers. His sons humbly ask the Lord to grant him a place in heaven to allow him to watch over those he has left behind.

MIFSUD. On August 18, JOSEPHINE (Ġuża) née Ellul, of Brisbane, Australia, formerly of Paola, passed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Frank, her sons Philip and Michael, her brother Charlie Ellul and their respective families in Brisbane. In Malta, she leaves to mourn her loss her brother Emanuel Ellul and his wife Rose, their children Sandra and Mario and their families, other relatives and friends both in Australia and Malta. The funeral service will be held in Brisbane. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CASSAR – MARIA, née Gerada. Treasured and unfading memories of a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on the eighth anniversary of her passing away. Deeply missed by her children Minnie, Edgar and Julie, in-laws and grandchildren. “Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His Holy name.” Kindly remember him in your prayers.
