An event aimed at generating awareness on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and raising funds in aid of ALS (Malta) was held at Sannat.

The event was organised by Starline Creations Media Productions. Writer Ronald Bugeja, who serves as Starline Creations director, said the event was a first for Gozo.

"We used local talent and it was a great success. So much so, that we intend to hold it on a yearly basis, in a different town each time," Mr Bugeja said.

The event started in the parish square and included a 2km fun run for children, and a 10km run and 5km walk for adults. Members of Athletix AC – Gozo took part. Young singers also gave performances during the event. A total of €700 was raised and presented to Bjorn Formosa who suffers from the terminal disease.
