Valletta completed their UEFA Futsal Cup Group F commitments in style after seeing off Wattcell United 9-3, in Ylivieska, Finland, yesterday.

The Malta champions had lost their opening two matches in the group but made sure they signed off on a better note thanks to a strong collective effort to ward off the Scottish team’s challenge in a duel for third place.

Valletta went in for the half-time break leading 4-1 and added five more goals after the interval for Clayton Felice’s team to register a sound win and leave their opponents in bottom place without a point.

Cristian Cuadros Silva and Chris Cardona hit the target twice yesterday with the other goals coming from Jovica Milijic, Dylan Musu, Denis di Maio, Vanderlei Augusto Reis and Endrit Kaca.

Earlier in the week, the Citizens had lost their matches to home side Sievi FS 7-3 and Georgia’s Tbilisi University State 6-0.

In yesterday’s decider for first place, the Tbilisi US side edged Sievi FS 5-4 to advance to the next round of the competition as group winners.
