Bad tweet: Crystal Palace’s record signing Christian Benteke may not have endeared himself to his new employers after appearing confused as to which club he has joined. The Belgium striker mistakenly announced on Twitter that he had joined Burnley, spelling their name wrong for good measure. His updated profile bio read: “Burnleyl FC and Belgium national team”. The 25-year-old then changed the club to CPFC, but not before the error was mocked by several of his 350,000 followers.

Henrique: Corinthians captain Bruno Henrique will be playing for Palermo this season following his €3m transfer move to the Italian club. Reports said the fee will be paid over two years following lengthy negotiations for the midfielder’s signature.

Kayode: Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark has made his 15th signing of the summer after landing defender Dapo Kayode on a 12-month deal. The former Fulham youngster was a free agent after leaving Romanian outfit Dinamo Bucharest. Clark, who earlier this summer unveiled 11 new arrivals on one day, has also wrapped up six-month loan deals for Birmingham City midfielder Charlee Adams and Burnley right-back Luke Hendrie.

Pazdan: Genoa are looking to beat the transfer deadline and secure the signature of Poland defender Michal Pazdan, currently on the books of Legia Warsaw. The 28-year-old central defender played at the European Championship for his country this summer. Legia are asking €3 million for their player but Genoa’s first offer seems to have fallen way off that mark so they will have to come back with a new bid to complete the move.

Garner: Rangers have signed striker Joe Garner from Preston North End on a three-year contract, BBC reported yesterday. Englishman Garner, 28, has scored 57 goals in 148 appearances since joining the Championship club in 2013. The forward could make his Rangers debut against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Friday evening. Garner has previously played for Carlisle United, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield Town, Scunthorpe United and Watford, scoring over 100 goals since 2006.
