Lovers of the sea and of Maltese heritage can merge their two passions this Sunday by hopping on board a special boat tour of Malta.

Organised by Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA), participants will sail aboard the Hera 2 for an all-day cruise around Malta. The voyage will take in the islands of both Filfla and Comino, with expert biologists Arnold and Jeffrey Sciberras providing an ongoing commentary for the duration of the trip together with FAA founder Astrid Vella.

The Tower of Comino. The Tower of Comino.

They will be highlighting the many different features of the Maltese coastline, including cliff geology, rock feature formation, the flora and fauna found on our islands, and also man’s contribution in the shape of towers and other cultural developments.

Although the boat will be sailing very close to Filfla, actual disembarkation on to the protected island is forbidden.

FAA is a not for profit, non-governmental organisation, committed to preserving Malta and Gozo’s architectural and rural heritage, as well as to ensuring a healthy quality of life. The organisation lobbies for the better preservation and use of the heritage of the Maltese islands, not only for the sake of preservation but also as an agent of social regeneration.

The Hera 2 will set sail on Sunday at 9am sharp from the Sliema Ferries (opposite Burger King) and is expected back at 6pm. Tickets to this event include a welcome drink, lunch and wine and water with the meal. Children under six go free.
