Harry Potter fans will have the chance to revisit the first film in the series accompanied by an orchestra performing John Williams’s score live on stage.

The film and concert series will debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be shown on a 12-metre screen, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra playing the Oscar-nominated music.

The 2001 film will be shown during three performances at the Royal Albert Hall before a UK tour to Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow. The screenings are part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series that was launched in the US in June.

Years in the making, this incredible film concert will bring the world of Harry Potter to life like never before

The film depicts Potter’s first adventure at Hogwarts Academy and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson in roles now being portrayed by older actors in the West End in hit play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Lucy Noble, director of events at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “Years in the making, this incredible film concert will bring the world of Harry Potter to life like never before, as the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra performs John Williams’s spellbinding score, conjuring a vivid atmosphere that will be magical.”

The global concert tour premieres at the Royal Albert Hall on May 12, 2017. Tickets go on sale tomorrow.
