Advocaat: Fenerbahce have appointed much-travelled Dutchman Dick Advocaat as coach following the sacking of Vitor Pereira. Lloris out: Tottenham Hotspur expect to be without injured captain Hugo Lloris for four weeks. The goalkeeper injured his hamstring and was replaced by Michel Vorm 35 minutes into Spurs’ opening 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday. Lloris is set to miss upcoming home games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool, as well as the trip to Stoke City on Sep. 10.

Benteke: Liverpool have rejected an initial £23m offer from Crystal Palace for striker Christian Benteke as they hold out for a fee similar to the one they paid last summer. Reports said that Palace, whose own transfer kitty has been swelled by Yannick Bolasie’s move to Everton on Monday, lodged a bid that, with add-ons, was thought could rise to £30 million.

Mari: Manchester City have signed defender Pablo Mari from Gimnastic Tarragona. Reports said Mari is set to go straight out on loan to Gimnastic’s fellow Spanish second-tier side Girona. The 22-year-old had been with Gimnastic since 2013, making 90 appearances.

Bridcutt: Leeds announced the signing of Liam Bridcutt from Sunderland on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. Leeds have been chasing the Scotland midfielder ever since his successful loan spell with the club last season and have finally been able to tie him down. “It feels good, it’s been a long time coming but now it’s done and we can concentrate on football,” Bridcutt said. The 27-year-old was nominated for Leeds’ player of the year award last season.

Fiorentina: Fiorentina have signed Croatia defender Hrvoje Milic from Hajduk Split on a permanent deal subject to a medical, the Serie A club said in a statement yesterday. The 27-year-old, who has been capped by his country six times, made 28 league appearances last season for Hajduk who finished third in the Croatian top flight.
