Tonight one has the opportunity to join a group of ramblers on one of the most pleasant and orchestrated routes through some of Malta’s most beautiful countryside.

Participants will meet near the Roman Villa just outside Mdina from where they will set off by car at 7.15pm sharp to arrive at the starting point of the walk.

The route will take in the area known as Ta’ Baldu as it meanders through country paths, forming a figure of eight back to the departure point. Participants will be able to take in various sites along the generally traffic-free journey, including vineyards and clay slopes .

Although the initial pace will be slow, it is expected that the group will gradually pick up speed until a steady pace is reached. The duration is approximately of 1.40 hours to 2.10 hours.

Organised by Leisure Ventures, the event is free of charge. It is suitable for anyone aged 13 and over, though participants will need to have a basic level of fitness in order to enjoy the experience.

Minimal equipment is required. Interested parties are advised to wear good trekking shoes and bring along torches (preferably head-mounted), fluorescent tops (preferably) or bibs (optional), nibbles to be shared with the group, as well as an adequate water supply.
