An additional €2 million has been allocated to the PV scheme launched in June, for which €5 million had originally been allocated.
In a statement this morning, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services said the original allocation for domestic sector PV panels had been taken up within a short time.
It said it will now continue accepting applications until the additional €2 million amount was taken up.
Using PV panels to deliver cleaner energy would help Malta reach its 2020 energy target while saving families on their energy bills, the regulator said.
