You know people are fed up when they go to the length of producing stickers to make their point.

Anti-construction stickers reading 'PL PN Żviluppaturi Qażzistuna' ['PL PN Developers We're Sick of You'] have been spotted on cars, lamp posts and traffic islands in recent days.

Unease at the rate of construction has been festering for several years, building up to a big public protest against development in Outside Development Zones last year and widespread incredulity at the manner in which the Planning Authority board approved skyscraper projects for Mrieħel and Sliema two weeks ago.

The stickers appear to form part of a series, with another similarly-styled one calling for 'Inqas Bini! Iktar Siġar! Inqas Paroli! Iktar Azzjoni!' ['Fewer Buildings! More Trees! Less Talk! More Action!']

With complaints having seemingly fallen on deaf ears, perhaps the unknown sticker warriors are hoping the powers-that-be will be able to read the writing on the wall.
