Izzy goes: Rotherham United have signed Chelsea forward Izzy Brown on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old, who is an England youth international, will spend the 2016-17 season at the New York Stadium, becoming boss Alan Stubbs’s 10th signing of the summer. Brown can play as a winger or striker and could make his debut in the Millers’ Championship clash at Brighton this evening.

Lacazette: Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette has hinted he would be happy to move away from Lyon provided the offer is right. Last month, Arsenal saw a bid in the region of £30m for Laca-zette rejected by the French club. However the 25-year-old said he would be happy to leave the club for pastures new. “If there are offers that can’t be refused, I’d like to not refuse them,” Lacazette told reporters yesterday when asked whether he would consider moving on from Lyon.

Silva: Serie A newcomers Pes-cara are close to signing Uruguayan defender Gaston Silva, 22, on loan from Torino. Reports said Pescara intend to strengthen their defensive lines this summer and Silva has been identified as one of their transfer targets. Silva, formerly of Defensor, only managed 12 league matches for Torino since joining them in 2014. Last month, Pescara also signed central defender Norbert Gyomber on loan from Roma.

Toronto: Toronto FC missed the chance to go top of the MLS Eastern Conference table as they were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Houston Dynamo. In a match that was delayed for 24 hours by storms, Cristian Maidana put Houston ahead before Jozy Altidore levelled on 24 minutes. In first-half stoppage time, Houston’s Abdoulie Mansally was sent off for a foul on Sebastian Giovinco, but Toronto could not make the extra man count.

Panucci sacked: Serie B club Ternana sacked coach Christian Panucci and appointed Benito Carbone as his replacement. Carbone will be making his debut in the Serie B campaign, starting on August 27. Before he was coach at lower league clubs Pavia, Varese and Pro Sesto.
