Children in Gozo carried a giant flag from the steps of Gozo Cathedral to the Leone Band Club this morning, as parishioners celebrated the annual Marċ tan-Bandiera

The August 14 tradition first started in 1999.

The mammoth flag, 10 metres high and 15 metres wide, was then hoisted on the band club's roof at noon.

Times of Malta reader Daniel Cilia was on hand to record events.
