A man died yesterday after leaning out of a train window and being hit by another train on the Gatwick Express in London.
A Gatwick Express spokesman said it first received reports about the incident at 5.45pm.
The train had been travelling from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious, and that a file is being prepared for the coroner.
Police have said the man was in his 20s and are still working to confirm his identity.
Initial reports suggested the man had been decapitated, however Inspector James Tyrrell, from British Transport Police, said: "This is not the case."
