Summer in Malta often means way too many wedding invitations from friends, acquaintances and family members start flowing in. By your third one you run out of all wedding-appropriate outfit options in your wardrobe. What to do then?
Whether it's a formal, casual or beach wedding, I’ve summed up five ensembles you can opt for to enjoy an unforgettable night celebrating love.
1. Little Black Dress
Yes, you can wear black to a summer wedding as long as you keep the silhouette light and flowy. Go for a minimal midi-dress rather than an evening gown. Keep it classy, just add a statement necklace and strappy heels.
2. Suit
Not a dress girl? How about a stylish pantsuit instead? It’s a perfect alternative to a conventional cocktail dress: just add a silky top, chic heels and statement earrings. Remember to pick a suit with elegant tailoring and preferably in pastel colours not to be mistaken for one of the ushers.
3. Floral Dress
Every girl has that one maxi floral dress that can be re-used for more than one occasion. A floral dress is very versatile and will have you covered for all types of weddings. You can dress it up with statement accessories, or dress it down with flat sandals and a bit of sparkle in your hair for a beach wedding.
4. Lace
If you’re dying to try one of the prettiest summer trends - lace - you’ve got the green light. Just try to avoid white. You don't want the guests to mistake you for that one special person at the ceremony. This lovely light blue dress is the best way to get your lace fix without taking away from a certain someone’s big day.
5. Sparkle Dress
Is the wedding more of a party-all-night thing with the hottest DJ line-up and full bar ready and waiting? It’s the party of the year so a lot of sparkle is in order. Put your dancing shoes on and get ready to shine!
