Two concerts were recently held at Sannat. St Margaret’s Band of Sannat presented its annual symphonic concert to celebrate the feast of St Margaret’s feast and to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the titular statue of the saint at the village church. Singers Francesca Sciberras, Antonella Rapa and tenor Fr Joe Calleja performed in the concert. The band was directed by Mro George Apap. Meanwhile Sannat parish organised a vocal and orchestral concert entitled Vincenzo Caruana Spiteri (1896-1932), 120 sena minn twelidu to mark the 120th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The concert featured soprano Georgina Gauci, tenor Fr Calleja, bass Noel Galea, Ulied Margerita Choir and the Classique Orchestra. The concert was directed by maestro di cappella Joseph Debrincat and held under the patronage of Gozo bishop Mario Grech.
