BAJADA. On August 4, EVANGELISTA, of Munxar, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Toni, her children Manoel and his wife Pauline, Johnny and his wife Mary Louise, Michael and his wife Grace, Mary and her husband Frank, Joey widower of Josette, Eugene and his wife Maria, Mark, Carmen and her husband Jorge, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother Mgr Franġisk Debrincat and her sister Lonza Debrincat, the family of her late brother Ġanni Debrincat, her brother-in-law Lonzu and his wife Anġelika and their family, the family of her late sister-in-law Marija Mizzi, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today, Saturday, August 6, at 4pm for the parish church of St Paul Shipwrecked in Munxar where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Margerita Cemetery in Sannat. No flowers by request but donations to the Arka Foundation would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MUSCAT DRAGO. On August 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, LUCY of Santa Luċija, widow of Joe, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Adrian and his wife Helen, Anna and her husband Joe Micallef, Carol and her husband George Portelli Hale, and John and his wife Suzanne, her precious grandchildren Daniel and his wife Sharleen, Pierre, Shaun, Alberta, Andrew, Matthew and Leanne, other relatives and friends, in particular Anthony and his wife Paulina. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Saturday, August 6 at 7.45am for St Pius X parish church, Santa Luċija, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Her greatness lives on forever. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Remembering Dom Mintoff

The Għaqda Duminku Mintoff is today commemorating former statesman Dom Mintoff on his 100th birth anniversary.

Activities start at 6.30am with a Mass at Mqabba parish church, to be followed by a band march in Vittoriosa that starts at the Freedom Monument at 9.30am. Later on, at 6pm, another Mass will be said at Cospicua parish church.

A typical Maltese evening will then be held from 7pm onwards at Ix-Xgħajra ta’ Misraħ Bormla with the participation of Renato, Dominic Cini, Ina Robinich, Lawrence Gray, Eleanor Cassar and Geordie Debono, among other singers.

Maltese għannejja Fredu Desira l-Indjan, Fredu Abela, Anġlu Theuma Il-Ġina, Martin Tal-Pitrolju and Leli Abela Il-Bambinu will also take part.
