Inter have signed Italy midfielder Antonio Candreva from Lazio on a four-year contract.

No fee was announced by the club but Inter have reportedly paid €22m for the 29-year-old.

“I am really happy and proud to be here,” Candreva declared.

“I always wanted Inter and I’m really excited to become a Nerazzurri player at last.

“I’d like to thank Lazio for the seasons we spent together and for giving me the chance to realise this dream. I can’t wait to play at San Siro and feel the passion of the Inter fans.”

Candreva, capped 40 times by Italy, becomes the first major signing at Inter since the Chinese Suning group completed their takeover of the club.

“I am very happy to welcome Antonio to Inter,” said club president Erick Thohir.

“I am sure he will prove a great addition to what is already a very strong squad.”

Candreva, a Rome native, made his Serie A debut playing against Inter for Udinese back in 2008, and had loan spells at Livorno, Juve, Parma and Cesena before moving to Lazio in 2012.
