Twelve kayakers will paddle round Malta for three days, sleeping in tents for the nights between Friday and Sunday.

They will leave from Birżebbuġa on Friday at around 7am and paddle all the way up to Għajn Tuffieħa, where they will sleep in the Malta Scout Association facilities.

On Saturday, the kayakers will make their way to Rinella, covering a total distance of 35km. They will camp at the Rinella campsite for the night.

On Sunday morning they will complete the trip by returning to the port of Birżebbuġa.  The total distance covered over the three days of paddling will be of around 85km.

The challenge forms part of the ETK Initiative – Educate Through Kayaking. The group aims to collect funds in order to help disadvantaged students pursue education by providing better access. The initiative can be followed on ETK’s Facebook page.

Kayakers from all over Malta are invited to give moral support to the volunteers by accompanying them for sections of the trip.
