DE MARCO. On August 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIE, née Borg Cardona, widow of Reggie, passed away peacefully, aged 80, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Ann and Simon, her sisters-in-law Ghita and her husband Donald Pace Bonello, and Juliette, widow of her brother Henry, her nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, August 4 at 8.15am for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.45am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Mater Dei Hospital for their care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Power cuts
Due to scheduled maintenance works on the electricity grid, there may be power cuts in, or in parts of, the following areas TODAY:
Between 7am and noon in St Catherine, Għar Barka, Tal-Lunzjata and Misraħ Suffara streets, and in the Swatar area, Rabat.
Between 8am and noon in Labour Road, in New Street and in alleys No. 1 and 2 in Cross Street, Naxxar.
Between 8am and 12.30pm in St Dimitrius Street and in Ta’ Ċini Alley, Kerċem.
Prayer meeting
A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held at Mtarfa parish church on Saturday. It will start at 9pm with Mass followed by adoration which goes on until 11pm.
Such prayer meetings are held in different churches around Malta every month.
