BARTOLO. On August 1, at her residence in Mellieħa, RITA, widow of John Mary, owner of Half Way Inn Restaurant, Mellieħa, aged 78, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. Dearly missed and never forgotten by her sons Joe and his wife Josephine, Godfrey and his wife Fiona, and David and his partner Loridana, her grand­children Clayton and his wife Jessica, Gilbert and his fiancée Anya, Kristy and her fiancé Joey, and Jamie, her great-grandchild Logan, her siblings and their respective spouses, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, August 3 at 2.30pm for Maria Bambina parish church, Mellieħa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment at Omm il-Ħniena Cemetery, Mellieħa. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BIANCHI. On July 31, at Mater Dei Hospital, YVONNE, née Ganado, passed away peacefully, aged 89, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her devoted husband Loris, her sons Adrian and his wife Claire and Philip and his wife Felicity, her daughter Anne, her grand­children Stephen and his wife Pamela, Sean and his wife Teresa, Lynne and her husband John Pessagno, Matthew and his wife Sara, Chris and his wife Stephanie, Michael and his wife Sarah, Peter and his wife Eszter, and Marguerita and her partner Kate, her 14 great-grandchildren, her sisters Marie Louise Firman, Grace Grech Orr and her sisters-in-law Angela, widow of her brother Joe and Sr Veronica Bianchi, SJA, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, August 3 at 8am for Balzan parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Casa Antonia, Balzan, for their long and dedicated care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DE MARCO. On August 2, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIE, née Borg Cardona, widow of Reggie, passed away peacefully, aged 80, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Ann and Simon, her sisters-in-law Ghita and her husband Donald Pace Bonello, and Juliette, widow of her brother Henry, her nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, August 4 at 8.15am for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 8.45am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Ramblers celebrate successful season

The Malta Ramblers' Association will be crowning a highly successful season of 120 local rambles and several treks in Europe, with a BBQ on Friday at the Corinthia Marina Hotel, St George's Bay, St Julian's, at 8pm.

A highlight of the evening will be a preview of the upcoming season, starting in October, by president Alex Vella.

The Ramblers' Association promotes a healthy lifestyle to all with weekly walks. Prospective members and visitors may join the Ramblers' clan for Friday’s occasion by calling 2131 3926 or 2163 3126.
