Norman Darmanin Demajo has been reconfirmed as the president of the Malta Football Association after winning a vote of approval during the association’s Annual General Meeting at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, in Floriana.

Darmanin Demajo was uncontested for his seat but asked for a vote of approval by the club delegates during yesterday’s meeting.

The MFA chief was given a resounding backing from the delegates present when he received 116 votes in favour while there were 18 against and will now will preside over the football governing body for a third term until 2019.

There were no changes in the vice-presidents position for which five candidates stood for election.

Dr Chris Bonett, Alex Manfre and Ludovigo Micallef who filled the positions for the past three years stood for re-election along with Victor Cassar and Angelo Chetcuti.
Bonett amassed the highest number of votes when collecting 119 votes while Micallef was second when totalling 93 votes. Manfre took the third and final spot when finishing with 74 votes.

Chetcuti received 58 votes while Cassar collected 28.
