Four Maltese shooters competed in different disciplines and events outside our shores these past few days.
Rennie Deguara returned home with the best result after winning the 2016 Irish Olympic Trap Grand Prix at the Ashbourne National Shooting Grounds, in Ireland.
He won the competition after hitting a score of 87/100.
In Double Trap, Nathan Lee Xuereb continued with his positive trend as he placed second overall in the Shotgun Junior Cup Final at ASD Porpetto, Italy.
Xuereb competed against some outstanding contenders in the category, many of whom having participated in the Orimattila (Finland), Suhl (Germany) and Porpetto (Italy) World Cup shoots this year.
While in Italy, three times European junior champion Xuereb also competed at an International Grand Prix for juniors. This time he had to settle for ninth place following a modest score of 132/150.
Meanwhile, George Cassar and Charlie Demanuele were engaged in the Gran Mondiale Perazzi Trap competition, also in Italy.
Cassar finished his rounds with a score of 164/200 and Demanuele 145/200.
Next week, a Maltese group from the Olympic Trap discipline will be travelling to Rome for an international training camp.
