Senseless mass killings, especially in Europe and the US, were perpetrated by youth who need psychiatric help. There is an urgent need for a Europe-wide drive to go down to community level to help these marginalised youth.

At the same time, we must beef up our security and surveillance at sea/airports and public places. (What is being done here in Malta?) Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures.

There must be tougher laws against people who remain mum regarding others who have criminal intent.

Disillusioned youth are like ticking time bombs.

We are obliged to help both them and society.
