Lirola: Young right-back Pol Lirola will play for Sassuolo in the new season after a two-year loan move from Juventus was confirmed yesterday. The 18-year-old Spaniard has only played in Juventus youth team so far. Sassuolo said: “Sassuolo Calcio communicate that they have completed the following market operation – defender Lirola Kosok Pol Mikel has signed on a two-year loan from Juventus.”

Kamano: Bordeaux have agreed to sign Guinea international Francois Kamano from Bastia. The 20-year-old midfielder, who has won five caps for his country, will cost around €2.5m. Kamano, who made 23 Ligue 1 appearances last season, has yet to have a medical but is expected to complete the move shortly.

Ladapo: Freddie Ladapo struck his first goal for Crystal Palace as they secured a 3-2 friendly win at newly-promoted League One side AFC Wimbledon. Palace, who stretched their unbeaten pre-season run to five matches, went ahead through Connor Wickham and although Lyle Taylor equalised before the break, Yannick Bolasie and Ladapo struck in the second half before the Dons scored again through Pape Souare’s own goal.

Banned: All Whites midfielder Clayton Lewis has been banned for one month after elevated levels of asthma medication contributed to a positive doping test, Drug Free Sport New Zealand said. The 19-year-old Lewis was found to have an elevated level of Salbutamol, contained in the asthma medication Ventolin, following a doping test in February. Salbutamol is a specified substance on the WADA’s prohibited list.

Bacca: West Ham have backed out of the race for the transfer of Milan striker Carlos Bacca, ESPN reported. Milan are willing to part with the Colombia international but it seems that Barcelona and Paris SG are also monitoring the situation. Following initial talks last week, the player’s agents failed to make contact again with West Ham and the Londoners are now eyeing other players in the transfer market.

Nasri: Samir Nasri didn’t appear in Manchester City’s International Champions Cup 6-5 shoot-out win over Borussia Dortmund yesterday after returning for preseason training overweight. The France midfielder also missed Pep Guardiola’s first game in charge against Bayern Munich after the new boss brought in a strict new training regime.
