Smith: Australia international left-back Brad Smith has joined Bournemouth from Liverpool on a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but British media reported that Bournemouth had paid three million pounds for the 22-year-old. Smith made 10 appearances for Liverpool under manager Juergen Klopp last season.

Arnautovic: Marko Arnautovic has signed a new four-year deal with Stoke. The Austria international, the Potters’ top-scorer and players’ player of the year last season, had been linked with a move to Everton. The 27-year-old has been a big hit at the Bet365 Stadium since his arrival from Werder Bremen in 2013 and had one year left on his previous contract.

Mascherano: Javier Mascherano has agreed a new three-year contract at Barcelona to end speculation about his future. The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer, with strong rumours of a transfer to Juventus, but he has now committed his future to the Catalan club. The 32-year-old has made over 250 appearances for the club, winning 16 trophies.

Gana: Everton have triggered Idrissa Gana’s release clause at Aston Villa, reports said. The Toffees have bid £7.1 million for the Senegal midfielder as new boss Ronald Koeman aims to make his first major signing of the summer. But Gana is attracting attention from elsewhere, with a return to France possible, and Everton face competition with more bids expected.

Voeller: Bayer Leverkusen’s director of sport Rudi Voeller admits his club are interested in signing Aleksandar Dragovic from Dynamo Kiev, but warned they will not pay over the odds. Reports suggested the Bundesliga club were offering €19 million for the central defender, but Voeller has dismissed those figures. “It’s a load of rubbish. We’re in negotiations, but not for these figures,” Voeller said.

Hardie: Rangers forward Ryan Hardie has completed his loan move to St Mirren. The 19-year-old joins Ibrox team-mate Tom Walsh in Paisley after signing for the Buddies until January. The Scotland Under-19 international has made 10 first-team appearances for Rangers, scoring twice, and netted six goals in 12 games on loan with Raith earlier this year.
